Ludo
My Rating:8.3

Preview:

Stories are like a game of ludo, intersecting with each other, sometimes lazy moves, sometimes joyride jumps.

At one side Corona has paced down our lives a bit, the other side, this movie gives a little push to our halted thirst of entertainment.

Review:

I am admirer of out-of the league cinema work, such as anthology, non liner, interwoven, uneven timeline.

Anurag Basu has brought to us a touch of entertainment with this fine piece of art. The movie starts with a game of ludo and throughout the film, it entertains, surprises us, the same way as the game does.

Same as the game has different colors, the stories have different shades. Like, you never know, what “your move” has hidden inside for you in next turn, the narration takes to the journey of ups and downs, twist and turns.

Use of old songs adds up to he humorous and retro touch to the storytelling. The words of song “Dil Julaha” are beautiful and well woven in storytelling.

Anurag Basu has also cleverly used one of my favourite scene which reminds me the movie “HALO”, where a little girl’s love and sacrifice for a puppy is expressed in emotional way.

I watched Lootcase last month, which was also kind of similar genre, but could not impress from the point of tight narrative, strong stories and also performance of characters. But this movie has proven its bar.

Abhishek Bachchan has once again showed what real potential he has, which is not used at all as was in Guru.

The climax has something really wonderful hidden for you. So, do not miss it and enjoy an entertaining ride of fun, romance, thriller and wonderful storytelling.
