Timepass

Rreview:

It’s totally a good time pass movie. I always liked cute love story movies, be it Fandry, or beginning part of Raanjhana, or flipped etc..
Time pass also evolves around such a cute subject called teenage love, honesty and adolescence. There is not a great story to tell in such movies but, the director has tried to do many nice things in storytelling and art work in the movie, for example the way each character is introduced, the way of including expression of peoples for any particular situations (i.e. When Dagadu fails in exam, or when Dagadu fells off during Dahi Handi event etc. )
Characters are established and introduced well in the movie and that too not taking much of reel time.
There is nothing special in story, it’s a typical story where heroin is from high class, she is college going girl, and boy is a loafer of the streets. They develop love and girl’s father becomes the enemy of their love. “Enemy”, as referred several times in the movie.
But what made movie different is, its treatment and background score, which supports the screenplay very well.
Female lead (role of Paraju) is very well played by.
You get involved in movie slowly. However, movie length could be reduced.

Some Interesting facts:

Actual run time of the movie is 143 min, which is referred as I LOVE YOU, in the movie several times.
Slowly, while getting involved in the movie, you get to know that there are actually two love stories.
Symbol of Dagadu loves Praju (D/P) can be seen several times in the movie, i.e. on classroom board, on trees and even during the scene of Dahi Handi, the Tshirt worn by Dagdu, has this symbol on back.

Some good scenes:

Some good scenes like, slow motion scene in which Dagadu daydreams. Typical scene where lover takes her girl on bicycle and there he applies sudden break and then shy emotions by girl, and so on … This scene is taken in slow motion with good background music to support that event…it was paisa wassool scene of the movie.

Another notable scene was, where Dagadu speaks out the dialog, Hum Kale hai to kya hua, Dilwale hai..” both scene are class. One, in the beginning when Dagadu tries to flaunt Praju and second when he is crying knowing that her father has stopped sending Praju to college.
When Dagadu visits SAI BABA to confess that SAI BABA has done right to fail him in class as he had copied, and then requests SAI BABA to pass him out in LOVE as he has not copied it this time. This scene is unique as it shows honest love of Dagadu towards Praju.
In turn Praju also proves her true love in scene where her father beats her asking who the boy is, but she does not reveal his name, even after getting beaten by her father.

Some uttering dialogues:

“Mai do hi logo ki ijjat karta hu, ek AAI BABA our ek SAI BABA”

Some backwards:

Film editing could have been better, as some scene were shown before they appear in the movie, for example when Dagadu or Praju daydreams of each other, some scenes involving both are shown even they did not appear in the movie till that time.
Also, movie length could be reduced by smart editing without affecting charm of the movie.

Overall the movie is good to relax in free time.

Gearing up for Timepass-2
